Your Zero PIN.
Six digits you'll remember without your phone. When your phone is dead you'll type your number, your birth month and this, on somebody else's handset — so pick something you can recall in a car park at midnight, and don't write it down on the phone.
We never see your PIN. It's salted, peppered and hashed before it's stored, and there is no way to read it back — not for us, not for anyone.
Your trusted people.
The people ZeroPercent texts when you're stuck. They never see anything else about you, and nobody in your family can see this list — not even whoever runs it.

Somebody who'd pick up. A mobile or a landline they actually answer — not a work switchboard.

Send this from your own Messages, so it comes from you. Until they text back, ZeroPercent isn't allowed to text them — and that's the text you'd be waiting on.
The message
Imagine your phone just died.
No panic. Here's exactly what you'd do. Practise it once so it's automatic.
- Ask someone you can trust. A teacher, shop assistant, station employee or a friend's parent. Any phone with a browser will do.
- Go to zeropercentapp.com. Sign in with your number, your date of birth and your Zero PIN.
- Text or call them. Pick someone and send a message. Their reply comes back on that page, so you don't have to give out the borrowed number.

You run a family on ZeroPercent, which means the app is where everything lives — batteries, approvals, invites. This page is only for someone who can't run the app: an Android phone, or an iPhone too old for it.
